Our First World Championship!

Posted: November 1st, 2011

Last year the headline read, our first RWC Title, this year we’ve gone all the way! Schengrund Stables had a SPECTACULAR Morgan Grand National capping off a fabulous show season for our home-bred stars!

On Thursday afternoon, SSLLC Vantage Point (Serenity Masterpiece x SSLLC Colour My World) won the 3 Yr Old Futurity Park Saddle class unanimously! Before the class as Amanda stood watching the rest of the entries warm up, Luman waited until the gait call to ride ‘Ace’ straight down the warm-up and right into the show ring. Talk about being on the edge of your seat!

When you watch Luman Wadhams ride a horse, it’s like watching poetry in motion. It sounds cliché but he asks his horses to put everything they have into that one moment and they respond as if it’s the only thing they know how to do. ‘Ace’ was brilliant, never dropping an ear or taking a wrong step. Amanda sat in the stands next to Jennie Wadhams with 10,000 emotions running through her body. I was entranced, elated, and hysterical all at once. There is so much thought and effort put into a breeding program and so many little obstacles along the way. When you finally reach the top, all of your internal doubts vanish and you realize everything is so worth it! A HUGE thank you to the team at Luman Wadhams Stable for everything, you are all magnificent!

And the story continues as Schengrund Stables congratulates Donna Boch on the purchase of SSLLC Vantage Point for her daughter Alexandra Fragiosa. Alex and ‘Ace’ will be under the direction of Jean DeGutis at Equitation Unlimited and we cannot wait to watch them show together. Thanks to Jean and Luman for their assistance in making this connection happen!
